“As a parents of a son with a costly medical condition, amongst 4 other children, the responsibility of putting food on the table is a daily challenge. With hours of care devoted to our dear child, we are forced to cap our work hours at our jobs, both of which are low-paid. Between fights over food, and sibling rivalry, the tension in the house is palpable.

As Passover was approaching, we were looking forward to this joyous festival, yet we were dreading the repercussions of the additional expenses of Matzah and wine, as well as the strained family dynamics while everyone was home. With no choice, we resorted to seek assistance from Food Lifeline.

We cannot express our sincere gratitude for the generous help we received. Boxes filled with 2 weeks’ supply of all our Passover needs were delivered to our doorstep. We were finally able to focus all our energy on our special son and his devoted siblings, giving them a calm, peaceful and happy Passover experience.”

“As a 76 year old retired pensioner suffering from a complicated terminal illness as well as mobility issues, I was heavily dependent on my wife’s devoted care over the years. With her sudden recent passing and little family support, I was thrown off balance, unprepared to face the future, sinking into depression and losing my will to live. As Passover was approaching, I could not fathom celebrating the festival alone.

Then, just as unexpectedly, all my festival needs were taken care of as Food Lifeline’s Passover packages, arrived on my doorstep. The enclosed encouraging notes showed me someone truly cared. And it didn’t end there. The kind-hearted volunteers referred me to a wonderful organisation that supports both my physical and emotional health.

May you always be able to continue your important work and please relay our heartfelt thanks to your special volunteers and supporters.”

“It started without us realizing what was happening. After my wife gave birth to our 3rd child, we knew it would take time to get back to normal. But we didn’t immediately realize that her fatigue and inability to function, were actually due to severe postpartum depression. I was struggling to take care of my confused and anxious children while juggling full–time work. With Rosh Hashana around the corner, and an endless list of expenses, I felt as helpless as the sweet newborn in my arms.

Food Lifeline stepped in to save the day with their customized packages containing everything we needed, from basic staples to iconic festival foods and even baby supplies! That year we were actually able to celebrate, as a family, in the spirit of the High Holy Days. We will be forever grateful for your personalised care and consideration.”
