Emergency Crisis

The Emergency Crisis Fund was created to support victims of crisis with their basic provisions, affording them much-needed relief and enabling them to address the challenges they will be facing. This form of assistance serves as a bridge for families to survive throughout the duration of the crisis, until they are able to recover emotionally and financially.

Promoting healthy eating

We pack in nutritious food contents that are carefully selected to suit the needs of every recipient, including fruits & vegetables, flour, eggs, sugar, oil, poultry, fish and general household supplies.

Going the extra mile

In some cases, Food Lifeline will provide food vouchers to Kosher shops. We also train our volunteers to step in to provide further hands-on support. We understand that a crisis is usually multifold and so we direct our users to the relevant welfare organisations to address underlying issues.

Sarah

“When my husband suffered a major car accident, resulting in a serious neck injury, he was unable to return to work for a couple of months. We went from a two-income family to one. I did all I could to work extra hours, but I needed to be there for my family.

Desperate for emergency support, someone in the community alerted me to Food Lifeline’s services and called on our behalf. Soon after, two Food Lifeline volunteers visited us and signposted me to another organisation, who offered support to my husband in hospital, as well as delivered weekly Shabbat parcels. To be able to come home after work every day, and have a good supply of nourishing food, made it so much easier to get through this bump and in the road, until the situation stabilised.

Food Lifeline is truly a lifesaver and we are extremely thankful for your selfless care and support,”

Family T

“No one expects their lives to turn upside-down in a moment. But when our house burned down late Thursday night, we went from being a functional, healthy family to completely dependent on the community’s support.

From helping us find shelter, to providing daily meals and weekly Shabbat food parcels, the volunteers at Food Lifeline saved our family. The parcels were delivered mysteriously, in the evening, without arousing undue attention from the neighbours. We are most grateful for the sensitivity and discretion you maintained, doing all you could to make us feel ‘normal’”

Thank you.
