With the Cost of Living Crisis, COVID’s long-term effects and the Ukraine war, food and energy bills are skyrocketing to their highest in over 40 years. Kosher food costs remain exorbitant and families are struggling more than ever before.
Through the ‘Heating or Eating’ campaign, 60 volunteers are supporting hundreds of people with weekly food parcels, essentials, energy vouchers and referrals.
We are committed to respond to as many calls as possible and are reluctant to turn anyone down. Our Kosher parcels and vouchers serve as a relief for redundant breadwinners, young children, single parents and seniors who have suffered with the rising global tension and are trapped in a downward spiral of poverty and hardship.
Our volunteers do shopping, banking and delivering. These serve as vital aid for the elderly and immobile.
“I work full time but I am facing a considerable amount of debt and I feel my pound stretching thin. With skyrocketing energy bills and food prices, it has gotten to the point where it is really overwhelming to provide for my family of 5. I think people underestimate that you could be working and earning as much as you can but, you can still struggle with putting food on…

With the continued rise in living costs and reductions in government support, it has become increasingly difficult to cover essentials like food, clothing and household bills. What was once manageable has quickly turned into constant financial strain, leaving us anxious about how to get through each month…

We are so grateful to Food Lifeline for your help. Your weekly food vouchers saved our family at our worst point. You gave us the time and energy to settle our major financial issues. You went beyond your call of duty, ensuring the children would not go hungry for even one day. Thank you for your support.”

After being referred by a local support worker, ZSV stepped in at a time when we felt we were running out of options. They provided practical help through food vouchers and financial assistance, easing the immediate pressure. They also guided me towards additional support services, which made a real difference to our overall wellbeing. Their kindness and ongoing support have helped us regain stability and hope for the future.”
